He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Hillary A. Howell, Sr. and Emma Howell; and his brother David Howell. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Howell; his children, Kristine Russell (Robert) and Jeffrey Howell; his granddaughter Jessica Russell; his brother Paul Howell (Charlene); his siblings-in-law, Geneva Haddix (David) and Rev. James Williams (Michele); and his nieces and nephews, Robert Haddix (Diane), Michelle Westerhout (Brian), Andy Howell (Lisa) and Heather Ashby (Karl).
