He is survived by: his wife Geraldine "Dee" Veale; his children, Owen Veale and Erin Held (Max); his grandson Raymond Held III; and his siblings, Susan Norton, Frances Cornwell (George), Christopher Veale (Dianne), Daniel Veale (Anne) and Patrick Veale (Karen).

Memorial donations may be made in Gerry's name to the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development.
