A hands-on learner and active patriarch, he eagerly tackled any needed repair project, read for learning and pleasure, played golf with Delfina and their friends as part of the Independent Order of Foresters, and taught his children every life and recreational skill he possibly could until his advancing Alzheimer's disease robbed him of the ability to continue.
