He is survived by: his wife Mary Douglass Kartchner; his former spouse Merlene Farnsworth; his sisters, Eva Joyce Ward of Avondale, AZ and Lois Gayle Whiting of Medford, Oregon; his sister-in-law Karen Cluff Kartchner of Blanding; his sons, David Eugene (Colleen) of Taylor and Leslie Ray (Linda) of Pipestone, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Felisha Hurst, Chrystal Smith, William "Billy", Dillon Rova, Richard, Dale, Freeman, Brandon Kartchner and Jared; and his great grandchildren, Katelyn Jean, Amelia Ann, Preston Jason, Brinlee Makette, Conner Merrit Hurst, Alayah Lynn, Conner Michael, Rockwell Easton Smith, Brogan William, Kreelyn Kaye Rova, Chaelee Jo, McKenna Jean and Freeman James Kartchner.
