He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl H. Tanner and Birdie Marilla Tanner (Jarvis); his son Carl Trevis Tanner; and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Tanner and Joan Carol Tanner.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Tanner of Taylor, Arizona; and his children, Troy L. Tanner (Jennifer K.) of Pinetop, Gaylene Ruiz (Arnold A.) of Gilbert, Sharalee Yellowhair (Loren) of Taylor, Justin G. Tanner (Taralee) of Snowflake and Janae Ayala (Santiago) of Apache Junction, Arizona. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
