He was predeceased by: his parents, David Gathrite and Mary Lee Gathrite Mosley; his siblings, Jimmy Lee, Leo, David Gathrite Jr. and Mary Lee Arrington; his son Ira Noell Nelson (Shantel Nelson); his stepchildren, Sam Nelson (Taryn Nelson), Michael Harris (Claudia Harris), Selena Nelson and Emmanuel Gathrite; and his grandchildren, Aaryanna Nelson and Jessiah Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Veronica Gathrite; and his brothers, Jimmy Gathrite (LaGwen) of Jackson, MS, Larry Mosley of Long Beach, CA and Rodney Mosley of Los Angeles, CA.
