He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Fredericka Ellison Jr. (Keith); his wife Tabitha Ellison; his children, Erika Ellison, Amber Hanks (Alvin Hanks), Michael Ellison Jr., Tyler Ellison, Candice Gammage (Stephen Gammage) and Jarius Ellison; his grandchildren, Alvin Hanks Jr., Amaya Hanks, Tristan Ellison, Astaja Gladding, TJ Goodwin, Austin Hanks, Aubrey Hanks, Savannah Gammage, Braylon Ellison, Michael Ellison III, Jade Ellison, Celeste Gammage and Stephen Gammage Jr.; his father Robert Ellison Jr.; and his brother Jerry Ellison. He was also cherished by his family and friends near and far including his sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
