Michael Alan Menck Obituary
In the afternoon of June 9th, 2019, Michael Alan Menck passed away at the age of 67 after a battle with Alpha-1. The Lord blessed him with seven months after the onset of his ending battle, in which time he was able to share meaningful and memorable moments with many that he loved.
Often known as “The Coach”, Mike took pride in that role as a mentor, making many lasting friendships along the way. He never forgot any of the young men he lead, despite the years and distance. He spoke of them frequently and fondly.
An avid sports enthusiast, Mike enjoyed watching his favorite team (the Yankees) as he had marveled watching them in his youth (though it was never quite the same). Getting to see them play in person was a fond memory he enjoyed sharing: watching the feet of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris emerge from the shadows of the tunnel as they waited to take the field.
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Lola & Eddie Ziebarth, and by his parents, Norma & Art Menck. He is survived by his loving wife Terry (Engelage) Menck, his children, Matt (Krystal) Menck, Carrie (Jason) Cameron, Christine Menck and nine grandchildren and 2 (as he called it) bonus grandchildren.
Mike was always a large personality and he will be missed greatly from this earth. Being a Christian, he now is at peace with his Savior, Jesus Christ for which we are grateful.
In remembrance of him, please take time to thank the Lord for the time granted with him.
