He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Gaitan and Angelmira Gaitan; his wife Matilde; and his children, Johnny, Mario and Gloria.

He is survived by: his siblings, Francisco, Bartollo, Jesus (Chito), Carlos, Jullian and Rosa; his daughters, Elena and Connie; his siblings, Domingo, Simon, Anita and Elena (Nena); and his grandchild Eddie. He is also survived by 23 Great Grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
