She is survived by: her husband Thomas Szotko Sr.; her brother Denny Heeringa; and her children, Cathie Garza, David Garza Sr., Sarah Ragland and Thomas Szotko Jr.. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Musician and singer Gail Darlene (Heeringa) Szotko went to be with her Savior on March 29th, 2021 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's and Parkinson's dementia.
