He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Mercer and Mary Mercer; and his brother James. He is survived by: his wife Twylia; and his sons, Ed Jr. (Helen) and Dean (Patricia). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
