He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Howard and Viola Kappes. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kappes; his brother Tom Kappes (Jan) of Ainsworth; his sons, Christopher Kappes (Paula) of Chicago and Kurt Kappes (Janet) of Davis, California.; and his grandchildren, Derek Kappes (Allie), Kadre Pershing (Larry), Emily Kappes and Jason Kappes.
