He is survived by: his former wife Emma Elias; his children, Jesus (Tito), Mary Helen, Mary Christine (Tina), Edward, Roy, Mark and Emma; his wife Bertha Ramirez-Tovar; and his children, Ernest, Loretta, Louie, Eldefonso (Fonso) and Juanita. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
