Wilda Pauline (Groff) Stokes Obituary

Wilda Pauline (Groff) Stokes (Sun City, Arizona), born on July 21, 1933 in Murdo, South Dakota, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 21, 2021. Wilda was born to A.P. and Rosetta (Humphrey) Groff and was 11th out of 12 children in a blended family. Wilda was a true force of nature, loving and loyal. She was married to Jim Stokes for over 50 years, where they made their final years together in Pierre, South Dakota where she served in various volunteer positions, including Avera-St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and Countryside Hospice. Wilda is survived by her: son Vince (Takayo); daughter Lizbeth; grandson Jim (Amanda); granddaughters Ashleigh and Abigail, and two great-grandsons, Jackson and Cole. Her husband and 10 siblings predeceased her.

A burial will be held on Thursday, July 14th 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Scotty Philip Cemetery (Ft. Pierre, SD).
