He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carla; his children, Ray Bruce (Cheryl), Judy Gregory (Sam) and Amy Parks (Stoney); and his siblings, Ralph Bruce and Irene Thackrey. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
