He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Werne and Dorothy Werne (Dotterweich); his wife Betty Harpenau; his siblings, Phyllis Sermersheim, Allen and Don Werne; his sons-in-law, Don Abrams and Blaine Singleton; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Boeglin and John Sermersheim.
He is survived by: his children, Jackie Sylvester (Tony), Becky Sylvester (Tim), Jeannine Singleton of Lexington, Tammy Styga (Chris) of Huntsville, AL, Nanette Abrams of Georgetown, KY, Kim Boyle (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL, Bill Werne (Jane) of Pembroke Pines, FL, Doug Werne (Stephanie) of Nicholasville, KY and Kent Werne (Susan) of Boynton Beach, FL; his sisters, Elaine Bettag (John) of Mariah Hill, IN and Dolores Boeglin of Ferdinand, IN; and his sisters-in-law, Doris Werne of Ferdinand, IN and Rita Werne of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
