With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Gimbel (Sun City, Arizona), who passed away on July 19, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emanuel Gimbel and Emelia Gimbel; his wife Mabel; his daughter Ruthann; and his great grandchild Howie Nachtigall.
He is survived by: his children, Becky Shaw (Paul), Anna, Zach VanVleet, Ronen, Mateo, Andrew, Christina, John Hemenway, Jim (Jill), Andy, Laura, Miriam, Lila, Willa, Holden, Abby, Seth Brashear, Silas, Iggy, Wren, Gavin Nachtigall, Lionheart, Juniper, Paul (Karen), Jared, Jon, Jill, Hayes, Jessi, Tim Wittig, Jayden, Ryleigh and Logan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be donated to Lutheran Bible Translators (205 South Main Street, Concordia, MO 64020) or the Lutheran Hour Ministries (660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, MO 63141), or Fountain of Life Lutheran Church.
