He was predeceased by: his parents, Gloria Cuadrado Mendez and Eugenio Mendez; his sister Priscilla Mendez; and his niece Gloria Cruz Sow. He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Mendez, Eugenio Mendez, Edwin Mendez, Susan Topham, Dorothy Mendez, Lana Williams and Faith Davis Flores.
