He is survived by: his wife Darlene Ross; his grandchildren, Ben Plate (Amanda) of Oskaloosa, Chelsey Johnson (Greg) of Oskaloosa, Brandy Plate of Oskaloosa and Brandon Plate of New Sharon, Iowa.; his great grandchildren, Charley, Andrew Johnson, Aubrey, Hannah Plate of Oskaloosa, Nova Plate, Jacob Wallace of New Sharon, Tyler Long of Grinnell and Lexi Long of Newton; his brothers, John Plate (Margret), Robert Plate, Ivan Plate (Mima) and Howard Plate (Elaine); and his sister-in-law Peggy Plate.
