In January 2020, just before COVID hit, Rich developed a spinal bleed which developed into a hematoma that caused him to be paralyzed from the waist down.

He said that being a Rhinehart in Hartford meant you had to fight daily (literally), which no doubt laid the foundation for his later success as a boxer while serving in the US Army.
