He was predeceased by: his former wife Jeanne Rae McDonnell (Coe); and his children, Patrick Joseph McDonnell, Paul Michael McDonnell and Laura Ann McDonnell. He is survived by: his wife Joan McDonnell; his daughters, Rita German (Dave) and Janet Smolic (John); his sisters, Helen McDonnell and Rita Zadalis (James); his brother-in-law James Coe (Phyllis); and his daughter-in-law Mary McDonnell. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
