She was predeceased by: her parents, John Johnson Vernon and Mildred Naomi Austin Vernon; her husband Donald W. Alford; and her sisters, Betty Louise Vernon Whitfield and Peggy Vernon Hoyt.
She is survived by: her daughter Peggy Alford-Huxford (Kevin); her nephew John Vernon Whitfield (Sheryl); and her niece Maura Ann Whitfield.
