It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joyce Jordan Harris of Sedona, Arizona, who passed away at the age of 78, on August 30, 2022. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Jordan and Edith Jordan; her siblings, Shirley Chandler, Billy Jordan, Jimmy Jordan, Danny Jordan and Joe Jordan; her husband Richard Harris; her children, Jeffrey Pixler, Kevin Pixler and Zita Harris; and her pets, Jacque and Cody. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
As a result of this reconnection with her undergraduate alma mater, she and Richard established the Sapience Foundation which awarded scholarships to students in the UTSA English program, much like the one she had received herself. In addition to the financial donations, Joyce graciously hosted scholarship recipients at her home, getting to know them and their writing.
