He was predeceased by: his parents, John Paul Scott, Sr. and Genevieve D'Arcy Scott; and his sister Janet Moore (Scott). He is survived by: his sister Mary Jeanne "Jeanne" Grove (Scott); his wife Elizabeth "Betty"; his children, Kathleen, John, III, Diane, Carl Kelleher, Katherine Heim, Janet (Shawn) and Robin; his grandchildren, Christopher Scott (Maggie), Alan Brady, D'Arcy Jana, Dominick Chavez (Jacey) and Tristan Chavez; and his great grandchildren, Lincoln and Oaklyn. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and "Gigi," his fur baby.
