She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Fields and Lorraine Fields; and her son Paul. She is survived by: her husband Robert Bass; her daughter Deborah Preach (Randy); her stepbrother Byron Essig (Leah); her grandchildren, Ashley Amato (Regan) and RJ Preach (Kaily); and her great grandchildren, Saylor, Reagan, Hudson and Austyn.
A graveside service will be conducted at Mountain View cemetery in Rapid City, South Dakota, where she will be buried next to her beloved son, Paul.!In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Hospice of the Valley in Jan's name.
