He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cooley and Donna Mae Cooley; his son Kenneth Dale Cooley; his grandson Kenneth Cooley; and his siblings, Calvin Cooley, Col. Jack Cooley and Olene Hurlbert.
He is survived by: his wife Glee Caron; his children, Farrell and Brenda Barcellos (John) of Phoenix; and his stepchildren, Caron Reynolds of Alabama and Mark Scheiter (Donna) of Montana. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers Carroll wanted those so inclined to donate to the Phoenix Police Museum, Salvation Army or Arizona Humane Society.
