He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Charles and Catherine Jean Markey (McGuigan); his son Robert Bruce Markey; his former wife Elizabeth Markey (Overby); and his sister Nancy Markey Oakley (Terry).
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Joan Markey (Anderson); his son Christian (Bryce); his stepchildren, Josh, Anna, Joe Gullekson of Scottsdale, AZ and Kate Regan of Excelsior, MN; his nephew Tracy Peterson of Henderson, NV; and his goddaughter Sabrina Batalden of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
Since the pandemic, a highlight for Bruce was a weekly Zoom call with his two best Agassiz Junior High buddies, Mike and Jim.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Homeless Youth Connection in Phoenix, or Environmental Defense Fund.
