He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Gustavine Sykes (Gerrardi) and Joseph Thomas Sykes Sr.; his siblings, Yvette Briand (late Marcel), Gustave Strong (late Lorraine), Haroldine "Deanie" Evendole (late George), Marie Yachwan (late Stanley), Jean Guagliano (late Frank) and June; his son-in-law Scott Faulring; and his niece Jeanine Briand Stringer.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Sykes (Brown); his children, Barbara Faulring (late Scott) of Orem, UT, Kathy Bird of South Jordan, UT, Sandra Beck (Bryan) and Richard Sykes; and his sister-in-law Maryanne Waters (Mark). He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren.
