He is survived by: his children, Mashelle Bollie of Granger, Julie Sowder (Bill), Jessica Flannery (Matt) of Tea, SD, Chuck Gathercole (Sheila) of Des Moines and Mike Gathercole (Nicole) of Davenport; and his siblings, Larry Gathercole of Des Moines and Marylan Burgoyne of Tigard, OR. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and close friends.
