He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary and Mary Katherine Mead; and his siblings, Nora Jean Mead, Mary Lane Daniels and Hugh Mead.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Mead; his children, Anthony Payne, Vaughn Andrew Mead, Pam Tackett, Janet Therese Strickland and Diane Coleen Mead; and his stepchildren, Patrick Preder, Christopher Preder, Aaron Preder, Richard Preder and Laura Preder. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Gary gradually retired to donate his mechanical abilities to the VFW and other charitable organizations.
