He was predeceased by: his brother Larry; his niece Lindsey; and also, Fred and Mary Ruth. He is survived by: his son Spencer; his former wife Denise Stoddard; his children, Nathan (Erica), Allison, Lance and Lauren (Victor); his siblings, Rusty (Carol), Danny (Laura Leigh), Becky (Steven) and Andy (Jane); his sister-in-law Cindy; his granddaughters, EllaMoret and Zuri; and his close friend Andrew. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins.

In lieu of flowers, Spencer would say, "Just go get some (ice) cream.".
