Byron Bonebreak wrote a sympathy message

“I really do mourn your loss, Larry, but am gladdened that we were able to stay connected from time to time over the last 50 years. You were such a fine Naval Officer, an outstanding pediatric dentist and orthodontist, an exceptional athlete and a good friend. We had good times just listening to Jim Croce on your state of the art quadraphonic music system or shooting hoops at lunch. No one could drain long jumpshots like you, you would have been an All-American if we had 3-pointers!! Byron”

Ferdinand Lugo wrote a sympathy message

“It is with a heavy heart that I write this note to you Donna and to your children. It seems that it was yesterday that we all had a truly wonderful time in the Navy. Larry was our best friend, always willing to give us a hand, a true friend with whom we shared great times, adventures, laughs and specially many foods from the neighboring towns places. He was always eager to try them all, we enjoyed those days so much My wife, Maria, and my self have you all in our hearts Ferdinand”
