He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Sr. Volz and Lena Volz; his former wife Patricia Schmidt; and his brothers, Tommy Volz, David Oberschmidt, Ronald Schultz, Garry Miller and Tom (Judy Schrock).
He is survived by: his wife Ruthann Volz; his children, Brian Volz (Sherry), Mary Lou Valley, Herbert "Chip" Volz III (Shelly), Thomas Volz (Gail), Kendra Smith (Brian) and Scott Clark (Karrie); his grandchildren, Lane Valley (Rachel), Wyatt Valley, Herbert "Jay" Volz IV, Isabella Valley, Melissa Reno, Jessica Haney (Brad), Jeremy Harris (Lindsey), Charles Harris (Kelly), Kathelyn Ridenour, Stacy Ridenour, Austin Clark (Kortney) and Ryan Clark (Meghan); his great grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, Charlotte, Hunter, Autumn, Dylan, Jameson, Colton, Brody, Brooklynn, Nolan, Jaxson, Mathew and Kay; his siblings, Kaye Schultz, Timothy Volz (Debbie), Donna Schmidt, Kerry Schrock (Teresa) and Patti Miller; and his close friend Wilfred Lacker. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Orangewood Clubhouse.
He dedicated time as a Boy Scout leader and became a consistent presence at blood drives, generously donating over 10 gallons of blood during his lifetime.
