Monday September 18th, 2023, Arthur Valentino, 76, of Phoenix AZ, passed away peacefully at his home with his beloved wife Lynn Valentino at this side.Arthur and Lynn married on August 6th, 1994, and resided in Chicago, Illinois. In 1999, they moved to Phoenix Arizona which they called home for more than 24 years.Arthur was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all his life experiences. Arthur worked as a Police officer for Hillside Illinois from April 1st, 1988, to October 1st, 1996. He knew every time he walked out the door, it might be his last. He enjoyed being a police office. He loved to protect and serve his community.*(EOW) End of watch, not the day he retired, or the day he left us, his EOW, will be the day he is reunited with his family*After moving to Arizona, Art worked for the DMV where he eventually retired. While working at the DMV, he made many great friends, Jesse and Ramona who loved him to the very end.

Arthur is survived by his wife Lynn Valentino of 29 years, his sister Sally Gilley, Nephew John Gilley and his wife Robin Gilley, Niece Torial Gilley, step son Jimmy Hardy and his wife Beth Hardy and his two grand-children Elyse and Ashley Hardy, dearly departed step daughter Rose Wright, and her husband dearly departed Darrell White and their daughter Grand-child Tiffany Wright and her husband Adam Wright, their son, great-grandchild Lukas Wright, cousin Maria Damico and his longtime friend Jorge Magdaleno.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them – and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.
A Graveside service will be held on October 21st, 2023, at 1:00pm at Holy Cross Catholic cemetery and funeral Home, 9925 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ 85393.
