He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Dlugosh Recker and Clarence Nicholas Recker; and his daughter Kelly Jean Rubenstein. He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his daughters, Luann McDonnell, Sherri Nelson and Karen Bruno; and his brother Dave Recker. He is also survived by 4 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.

“OMG Gloria, I am so sorry to find out that Chief Tom has passed. I had sent him several unanswered emails and knew something had to be wrong because he always answered me right away. As you know, Chief and I had developed a wonderful online friendship for over the last 10 or so years. Chief Recker was a great inspiration to me when I worked for him on the Canopus in Rota back in the late 60's. I credit the Chief for my decision to remain in the Navy for over 25 years. My SINCERE condolences!”
