She was predeceased by: her husband Captain Robert Olson; her parents, Murl Bates and Greta Oettchen; her stepmother Mildred; her siblings, Gordon Bates and Joyce Cox; and her stepsister Jeannette Merten.
She is survived by: her daughter Pamela Olson (Chris Eatock) of Phoenix, AZ; her siblings, Virgil Bates (Arlene) and Linda Leaman (Jerry); and her stepsiblings, Richard Staley (Susan) and Sharon Buchanan (Don). She is also survived by many relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to local food pantries, hospice services, animal shelters, or organizations supporting women and children—causes close to her heart.
