He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Smith (Ted) and Mary Smith (Schieble); his brother Robert Smith; and his sisters-in-law, Peggy Speth (Ray) and Lois Matheson (Bill).
He is survived by: his wife Althea Rautenberg; his sister Marilu Anderson of Mauston, WI; his son Greg; his daughter-in-law Beth Smith of South Carolina; his daughter Rebecca; his son-in-law Kurt Faust of Michigan; his grandchildren, Ashley Smith of Missouri, Christian Smith of South Carolina, Daniel Smith (Chessie) of Kentucky, Alex Faust (Ally) of Michigan and Andrea DeVries (Alex) of Michigan; and his great grandchildren, Mac, Cam Faust, Evelyn and Eddie DeVries.
