“I recall meeting Dale as an intern in 1976 at PGH, and will never forget the powerful 'lessons' he taught, especially when I misdiagnosed a patient with Bell's Palsy - I got 'reamed' (educationally). Nonetheless, by the end the internship, I wound up presenting him with 'trainer of the year award' at PGH. He was demanding and feisty - he pushed his trainees to work hard and understand the science - if you didn't perform, he let you know! My deepest condolences go out to the family.”

“I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Schultz in 1979 when I started working at PGH in the CCU. I had a strong neuro background working at Barrows Neurological Institute prior to coming to PGH. Somehow I ended up taking care of the neurological patients when he had anyone in CCU. Let's just say I'm glad I was comfortable taking care of his patients. He was someone who always made a strong impression on people. He will be missed as he was respected by many. My deepest sympathy to his family.”
