He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Carlos Romero Baylon and Eulalia Razon Baylon; his wife Ellen Amelia Wendtland; his children, Mark (Margaret), Michelle Herzog (Paul) and Joshua; his granddaughter Rachel; his daughter Jessica Baylon (Kirby Hnat); his grandchildren, Jacob and Jacquel; his sister-in-law Mona Spaanem; and his nieces, Rebecca Baylon Vergara and Carla Baylon.
In 2014, Rene and Ellen moved to Tucson (Marana), AZ, after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, to be near his daughters, Michelle & Jessica.
