Butch and Marilyn Goetz wrote a sympathy message

“Dear FAMILY OF LEROY, We are so sorry to hear of Leroys passing....he has been a friend since wel became members at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in the same class many years ago. We are also from North Dakota, and he was such a dear man who would talk to us about growing up there. He and Butch were both Theta Chi but from different North Dakota Universities. We are so sorry that we can't attend his service, but will think of him and see him in his favorite seat in church each Sunday. He was a wonderful friend and an inspiration to so many. God Bless you all in learning to live without his presence, but we know his memory will last a life time with all of you. Sincerely, Butch, Marilyn, and Jill Goetz”
