He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. Andress and Ruby Naomi Andress; his wife LaVerna Andress; and his sister Billie Somerville. He is survived by: his daughter Desiree Andress-Ihrig; his son-in-law Billy Ihrig; his grandson Braedyn Andress-Ihrig; his brother Ron Andress (Ruth); and his close friend Robin Wurst.

“Gary was a cousin of mine and of my brother Ray (Tex) Andress. My brother considered him a great friend who enjoyed their time of camping and elk hunting together. During Tex's battle with cancer, Gary was very supportive of him. During the family's visit with Tex during his treatments, he opened his home for visitations, meals, etc. While the distance between Texas and Arizona prevented frequent contact with Gary, he and his family were in the hearts of many relatives. Gary will be missed”
