He was predeceased by: his parent Jack James Scoggin Sr.; his grandparents, Eva Afton (Pate), Samuel Edward Potts, Mary Bell (Helten) and J. V. Scoggin; and his mother Barbara Scoggin.
He is survived by: his siblings, David Scoggin (Sherry), Tawnya Lindsey, John Scoggin (Kathy), Michelle Handler and Shannon Knight (Galen); his stepdaughter Claire Miller (George); and his grandchildren, Sheyanne and Drake Miller. He is also survived by friends, and derived great joy from spending time with his cousins, grandchildren, dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
