He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Higgins; and his siblings, Marjorie Higgins, Lawrence Hillister (Barbara Ferrel), David "Jackie" (Shirley Hall) and John Leanard "Jackie".
He is survived by: his children, Linda Kay (Ricardo Sarff) and Jeffrey Allen Higgins; his significant other Irene Rogers Smith; his brother Robert Higgins (Riksene) of Duluth; and his grandchildren, Chad Higgins, David Sarff (Jackie), Elizabeth Sarff, Laura Kerkvliet (Joshua), Nathan Sarff and Cody Kerkvliet. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
