It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas Walter Schafer of Maricopa, Arizona, who passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schafer and Lillian Schafer (Hengesbach); and his brother Larry Schafer. He is survived by: his wife LaVonne Schafer (Belfry); his children, Aaron Schafer (Bethany) of Goodyear, AZ, Laura Roguske (Brian) of Parker, CO and Michael Schafer of Chandler, AZ.; his sister-in-law Karen Schafer; his niece Kelly Chopp (Kevin); his nephew Troy Schafer; his grandchildren, Malorie, Sydney, Isabel, Annaliese, Madelyn, Drew and Bennett; his mother-in-law Carolyn Belfry; and his friends, Dale Patterson, Joe O'Leary and Bill DeGroot. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins.

In liew of flowers, a donation would be appreciated for the Society of St. Vincent dePaul, Clinton County Right to Life or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association.
