James Langstaff Obituary
James "Jim" Gruwell Langstaff, eighty years old, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, on September, 3rd, 2024. He was born on August 13, 1944, in Vine Grove , Kentucky. He was the youngest of three children. James started out in the Forest Service in the Los Angeles National Forest. He transitioned into carpentry where he received his Contractor's License, and retired as a Correctional Officer for the state of California. Jim took enormous pride in training inmates to fight fires his last ten years as a correctional officer with Gabilan Conservation Camp. He was a member of the volunteer Homeland Security Reserve Unit where he would meet military returnees and welcome them back home. James was proceeded in death by the love of his life, Jeanne Langstaff. They spent thirty three years together side-by-side. James was generous. He donated money to pay for families' meals and groceries who really needed the help. James is survived by a loving family: Tracy, Eddie, Mary, Susanna, Debbie, Eric, David, Angie and Bruce. James had 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, and two grand-pups, Rylee and Diva. The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 11:00 am at Abundant Grace Church, 3516 McCulloch Blvd North, Lake Havasu, Arizona. Arrangements were placed into the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
