She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Bartley and Blanche Wilcox Bartley; her siblings, Robert, Ivan, Irvin, Rebecca, Wanda and Betty; and her son Stephen Dale.

She is survived by: her husband Richard; her children, Richard Anthony and Shawn Michelle VanDeWater-Kingman; and her brothers, Samuel Jackson-Indianapolis and William Bartley.
