She was predeceased by: her parents, Julian Escobedo and Dolores Beltran Rios; her daughters, Carmen Guzman Everett and Patricia Guzman Smith; her husband Modesto Ortiz; and her grandson Eric Salas.
She is survived by: her former spouse Blas Guzman; and her daughter Eliza Guzman Brunner. She is also survived by 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
