He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Karle Pennington and Helen Pennington; his wife Lorraine Pennington; his children, Karen Anne Schmidlkofer (Steve) and Thomas Michael Pennington (Stephanie); his granddaughter Shannon Cochran (Richard); his great grandchildren, Finn Thomas and Cameron Lee Cochran; and his brother James Pennington (Mary).

“Lorraine, we are devastated by Tom's passing. We share in your grief and you know how deeply we loved that "always gentleman." Tom was a unique friend who could guide us, inspire and entertain all with a titled smile. Hard to think that we will live out the rest of our days with him around. But as our funeral Mass liturgy reminds us, his life has not ended, merely changed, and as we were together here for so many years, we will be together again in the life hereafter, Bill and Sharon”
