He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Messick and Lucy Messick (Peterson); and his sister-in-law Dorothy Renfrow. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Elaine; his children, Jason Messick (Melissa) of Wadsworth, IL, Lindsey Coburn (Josh) of Wauconda, IL and Audrey Aiken (Jeremy) of Antioch, IL; his grandchildren, Milena, Jonah Messick, Elena, Levi, Emily, Brynley Coburn, Jackson, Adelyn, Deklan Koesser, Maddie and Jonny Aiken; his sister Anita Dean (Bill); his brother-in-law Louis Renfrow (Terry); his nephew Doug Dean; and his nieces, Stacie Myers (Herb) and Kelly Tokarczyk (Jim).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Zion, PO Box 32, Ellison Bay, WI 54210.
