He was predeceased by: his parents, John Brooksby and Melinda Brooksby (Judd) of Fredonia, AZ.; and his siblings, Nora, Russell, Carl and Laurette.

He is survived by: his wife Barbra Jean Nelson; his sisters, Emma and Glenda; and his children, Ladd (Karen), Ann and Elaine (Brian). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
